FINAL Oscar Nomination Predictions - 1/23/201

This is it. Nothing more to say.

With that thought in mind, I present these final nomination predictions without my usual commentary. The comments will return next week, when we start to survey the field in earnest. Awards Pundit & Senior Film Critic. I married into the cult of cinema at a very young age - I wasn't of legal marriage age, but I didn't care. It has taken advantage of me and abused me many times. Yet I stay in this marriage because I'm obsessed and consumed. Don't try to save me -- I'm too far gone.

It’s interesting that you think Malick will be nominated and The Tree of Life won’t. I can imagine that doesn’t happen all too often. Either way it’s surely a worthy nomination.

What about Charlize Theron!!??!!  She deserves a nomination (and the Oscar itself, in my humble opinion)

That’s a good question. I know Jason was a big supporter of the film, which I have yet to see myself.  In the Best Actress category, pulling for Rooney Mara and Tilda Swinton!

  • Willow

Seeing Jonah Hill’s name beside the likes of Kenneth Branagh, Albert Brooks, Nick Nolte, Christopher Plummer, Ben Kingsly, and Max von Sydow makes me feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone.

Now it must feel even more like the Twilight Zone as Hill came away with an Oscar nomination this morning. Loved the performance, but you’re right he does seem out of place.
