The Judge (2014)
Following its world premiere as the opening night film at the Toronto International Film Festival, Warner Bros. Pictures has released the second official trailer for The Judge, from director David Dobkin. An official plot synopsis follows:
In “The Judge,” Downey stars as big city lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge (Duvall), is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.
This is a something new from David Dobkin, as he had previously only played in the comedy field with titles like Wedding Crashers and The Change-Up. The critical response at TIFF was decidedly mixed, with our own Jacqueline Valencia noting that it has “some great performances” but “isn’t as memorable as was expected” (check out her full review here).
The Judge stars Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, and Vera Farmiga and will be in theaters on October 10th.
