Recently cuckolded and reeling from a messy divorce, a hapless former singer hits the road and the bar with his all-too-helpful best bud in Breakup Buddies directed by Ning Hao (Crazy Stone, Crazy Racer, No Man’s Land). The film stars Huang Bo and Xu Zheng. Breakup Buddies opens in limited release October 3rd.
September 5th, 2014 – Los Angeles, California, USA – [For Immediate Release] China Lion Film Distribution announced today that it has acquired the Xu Zheng/Huang Bo starrer Breakup Buddies at the Toronto International Film Festival from leading independent film financing, sales and distribution company IM Global for North America and Australia/New Zealand. The Mandarin language film is directed by noted Chinese comedy director Ning Hao (Crazy Stone, Crazy Racer, No Man’s Land) and reunites Xu Zheng and Huang Bo in their first comedy since the massive Mainland hit that was Lost in Thailand. The film will be released in theatres on October 2ndin Australia and New Zealand and October 3rd in the United States and Canada.
