When the pairing of Will Ferrell and Mark Walberg in Adam McKay’s The Other Guys resulted in box office gold, the conversation immediately turned to the likelihood of future movies involving the two stars. Five years later, the two have reunited in the name of comedy, shedding their cop uniforms for competing father figures.
Ferrell plays a mild-mannered stepfather, Wahlberg afreeloading biological father. Linda Cardellini costars as the wife caught in the middle of their shenanigans. Sean Anders and John Morris (both of whom are responsible for films like Horrible Bosses 2, We’re the Millers, and That’s My Boy) direct a script by Brian Burns. The film opens Christmas Day.
Synopsis:
A mild-mannered radio executive strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two children, but complications ensue when their freewheeling and freeloading real father arrives, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids.
