It’s only been four years since the finale to the Harry Potter franchise, and already WB is putting out a prequel. Directed by Potter alumnus David Yates (responsible for all the films from Order of the Phoenix on) and written by J.K. Rowling herself, the film follows the adventures of author Newt Scamander in New York approximately 70 years before Harry Potter would attend Hogwarts.
Eddie Redmayne stars as Scamander, and the film stays true to the Potter tradition of having an eclectic cast, which features the lies of Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Samathana Morton and Jon Voight. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens November 18, 2016.
