After playing with great success to audiences and critics alike at TIFF, Berlin, SXSW and many other festivals, Love and Mercy now has its first full-length trailer. Bill Pohlad, producer of a multitude of films including Wild, 12 Years a Slave and Brokeback Moutain, directs his first film since 1990’s Old Explorers. Starring Paul Dano and John Cusack, the film jumps back and forth in time to tell the story of Beach Boy Brian Wilson. Dano plays the younger Wilson, an artist struggling to bring to life the art in his head. Cusack plays the older Wilson, a man struggling just to get by day to day. Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti also costar. The film is set for a June 5th release date.
The life of reclusive Beach Boys song-writer and musician Brian Wilson, from his successes with highly influential orchestral pop albums to his nervous break-down and subsequent encounter with controversial therapist Dr. Eugene Landy.
