“What have you done to me, you vengeful bitches?”

The Beguiled marks an interesting point in Sofia Coppola’s career, as it will be the first time since The Virgin Suicides that she is adapting a novel rather than writing an original screenplay. Thomas Cullinan’s The Beguiled, which was adapted by Don Siegel in 1971 and starred Clint Eastwood, has been remade with an arguably more flashy cast that includes Colin Farrell, Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Angourie Rice, and Oona Laurence.

Farrell plays an injured Union soldier taken in by a group of girls at a Confederate boarding school. Farrell cons his way into each of the lonely women’s hearts, and ultimately they turn on him.

The Beguiled opens June 23.

I never knew how movies could make your imagination soar until I saw "Star Wars," I never realized how inspiring they could be until I saw "Rocky," and I never truly appreciated film until I saw "Goodfellas." Film has been a central part of my life as long as I can remember and it continues to mold who I am. My " movies to watch" list is miles longer than my "movies I have watched" list. My only regret is not having enough time to watch them all.
